اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا، وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا، وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا، وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا، اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الإِسْلَامِ، وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الإِيمَانِ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ، وَلاَ تُضِلَّنَا بَعْدَهُ

English

O Allah, forgive those of us who are alive and those who are dead, the young and the old, males and females, those present and those absent. O Allah, whomever You cause to live among us, make him live according to Islam; and whomever You cause to die among us, let him die with faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward and do not put us to trial after him.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ، وَارْفَعْ دَرَجَتَهُ فِي الْمَهْدِيِّينَ، وَاخْلُفْهُ فِي عَقِبِهِ فِي الْغَابِرِيْنَ، وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلَهُ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ، وَافْسَحْ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ، وَنَوِّرْ لَهُ فِيهِ

English

O Allah, forgive him, raise his rank among those who are guided, and take care of those he leaves behind him. Forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds; expand his grave for him and illuminate it for him.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ فِي ذِمَّتِكَ وَحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ، فَقِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ، وَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَالْحَقِّ، فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِيْمُ‏ 

English

O Allah, So-and-so the son of So-and-so is in Your care and within the rope of Your protection, so save him from the trials of the grave and the punishment of the Hell-Fire. All faithfulness and praise are due to You. O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him

اللَّهُمَّ أنْتَ رَبُّهَا، وَأَنْتَ خَلَقْتَهَا، وَأَنْتَ هَدَيْتَهَا لِلْإِسْلَامِ، وَأَنْتَ قَبَضْتَ رُوْحَهَا، وَأَنْتَ أعْلَمُ بِسِرِّهَا وَعَلَانِيَتِهَا، جِئْنَا شُفَعَاءَ، فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ 

English

O Allah, You are its Lord and You created it, You guided it to Islam, You take away its soul, and You know its secrets and what is known about it. We have come as intercessors, so forgive him.

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ

Transliteration:

Rabbana ighfir lī wa li-wālidayya wa lil-mu’minīna yawma yaqūmu al-ḥisāb

English:

“Our Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day the account is established.” (Qur’an 14:41)

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ، وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ، وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ، وَاغْسِلْهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ، وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الْأَبْيَضَ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ، وَأَبْدِلْهُ دَاراً خَيْراً مِنْ دَارِهِ، وَأَهْلاً خَيْراً مِنْ أَهْلِهِ، وَزَوْجاً خَيْراً مِنْ زَوْجِهِ، وَقِهِ فِتْنَةَ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابَ النَّارِ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma aghfir lahu warḥamhu wa ‘āfihi wa‘fu ‘anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu, wa wassi‘ mudkhalahu, waghsilhu bil-mā’i wath-thalji wal-barad, wanaqqihi mina al-khaṭāyā kamā naqqayta ath-thawba al-abyaḍa mina ad-danas, wa abdilhu dāran khayran min dārihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa qihi fitnata al-qabri wa ‘adhāba an-nār.

English:

“O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him peace and pardon him. Receive him with honor and make his grave spacious. Wash him with water, snow, and ice, and cleanse him of sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. Replace his home with a better home, his family with a better family, and his spouse with a better spouse. Protect him from the trial of the grave and the punishment of the Fire.” (Muslim, Abu Dawood)

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ، وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ، الْأَحْيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَالْأَمْوَاتِ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma aghfir lil-muslimīna wal-muslimāt, wal-mu’minīna wal-mu’mināt, al-aḥyā’i minhum wal-amwāt.

English:

“O Allah, forgive the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, those who are alive and those who have passed away.” (Tirmidhi)

رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا

Transliteration:

Rabbi irḥamhumā kamā rabbayānī ṣaghīrā.

English:

“My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small.” (Qur’an 17:24)

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا، وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا، وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا، وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا، اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الإِسْلَامِ، وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الإِيمَانِ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ، وَلاَ تُضِلَّنَا بَعْدَهُ

English

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ فِي ذِمَّتِكَ وَحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ، فَقِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ، وَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَالْحَقِّ، فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِيْمُ‏ 

English

Transliteration:

Transliteration:

After Someone's Death

English

O Allah, forgive him, raise his rank among those who are guided, and take care of those he leaves behind him. Forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds; expand his grave for him and illuminate it for him.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَلَهُ وَأَعْقِبْنِي مِنْهُ عُقْبَي حَسَنَة

English

O Allah, forgive me and him, and give me good after him.

إنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ، اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِْي فِيْ مُصِيْبَتِيْ، وَأَخْلِفْ لِيْ خَيْرًا مِنْهَا

English

We are from Allah and to Him do we return. O Allah, reward me for my affliction and give me something better in return for it.

English

اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَلَهُ وَأَعْقِبْنِي مِنْهُ عُقْبَي حَسَنَة

English

O Allah, forgive me and him, and give me good after him.

إنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ، اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِْي فِيْ مُصِيْبَتِيْ، وَأَخْلِفْ لِيْ خَيْرًا مِنْهَا

English

We are from Allah and to Him do we return. O Allah, reward me for my affliction and give me something better in return for it.

Duas For Husn Ul Khatima (Good Endings)

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ خَيْرَ عُمْرِي آخِرَهُ، وَخَيْرَ عَمَلِي خَوَاتِيمَهُ، وَخَيْرَ أَيَّامِي يَوْمَ أَلْقَاكَ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma aj‘al khayra ‘umrī ākhirahu, wa khayra ‘amalī khawātīmah, wa khayra ayyāmī yawma alqāka.

English:

“O Allah, make the best part of my life its ending, the best of my deeds the last of them, and the best of my days the day I meet You.” (Ahmad, Hakim)

 

اللهم إني أسألك حسن الخاتمة 

 

English

"O Allah, I ask You for a good end to my life"

اللَّهُمَّ تَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ وَأَلْحِقْنَا بِالصَّالِحِينَ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma tawaffanā muslimīn wa alḥiqnā biṣ-ṣāliḥīn.

English:

“O Allah, cause us to die as Muslims and join us with the righteous.” (Yusuf 12:101)

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ خَيْرَ عُمْرِي آخِرَهُ، وَخَيْرَ عَمَلِي خَوَاتِيمَهُ، وَخَيْرَ أَيَّامِي يَوْمَ أَلْقَاكَ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma aj‘al khayra ‘umrī ākhirahu, wa khayra ‘amalī khawātīmah, wa khayra ayyāmī yawma alqāka.

English:

“O Allah, make the best part of my life its ending, the best of my deeds the last of them, and the best of my days the day I meet You.” (Ahmad, Hakim)

اللهم إني أسألك حسن الخاتمة 

English

"O Allah, I ask You for a good end to my life"

اللَّهُمَّ تَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ وَأَلْحِقْنَا بِالصَّالِحِينَ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma tawaffanā muslimīn wa alḥiqnā biṣ-ṣāliḥīn.

English:

“O Allah, cause us to die as Muslims and join us with the righteous.” (Yusuf 12:101)

When Visiting a Graveyard

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الدِّيَارِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ والْمُسْلِمِيْنَ، وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ بِكُمْ لاَحِقُونَ، نَسْأَلُ اللهَ لَنَا وَلَكُمُ الْعَافِيَةَ

English

Peace be upon you, O believing and Muslim dwellers of this place. Certainly, Allah willing, we will join you. We ask Allah to grant us and you well-being.

 

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الْقُبُورِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لَنَا وَلَكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْتُمْ سَلَفُنَا وَنَحْنُ بِالْأَثَرِ

 

English

Peace be upon you, O dwellers of the grave! May Allah forgive us and you; you are our predecessors, and we are to follow you.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الدِّيَارِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ والْمُسْلِمِيْنَ، وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ بِكُمْ لاَحِقُونَ، نَسْأَلُ اللهَ لَنَا وَلَكُمُ الْعَافِيَةَ

English

Peace be upon you, O believing and Muslim dwellers of this place. Certainly, Allah willing, we will join you. We ask Allah to grant us and you well-being.

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الْقُبُورِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لَنَا وَلَكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْتُمْ سَلَفُنَا وَنَحْنُ بِالْأَثَرِ

English

Peace be upon you, O dwellers of the grave! May Allah forgive us and you; you are our predecessors, and we are to follow you.

When Nearing Death

اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ، وارْحَمْنِيْ، وَأَلْحِقْنِيْ بِالرَّفِيْقِ الأَعْلَى

English

O Allah, forgive me and have mercy on me and join me with the Highest Companion.

لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

English

There is none worthy of worship except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, there is none worthy of worship except for Allah, alone, there is none worthy of worship except for Allah, alone, without any partner, there is none worthy of worship except for Allah, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him is all praise, there is none worthy of worship except for Allah, there is no power in averting evil, or strength in attaining good except through Allah.

اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ، وارْحَمْنِيْ، وَأَلْحِقْنِيْ بِالرَّفِيْقِ الأَعْلَى

English

O Allah, forgive me and have mercy on me and join me with the Highest Companion.

English

Duas For The Living (Patience & healing)

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ

Transliteration:

Rabbana afrigh ‘alaynā ṣabran wa tawaffanā muslimīn.

English:

“Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You].” (Qur’an 7:126)

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika minal-hammi wal-ḥazan, wa a‘ūdhu bika minal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wa a‘ūdhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a‘ūdhu bika min ghalabati ad-dayni wa qahri ar-rijāl.

English:

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, cowardice and miserliness, the burden of debts and being overpowered by men.” (Bukhari, Muslim)

حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ

Transliteration:

Ḥasbiyallāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa, ‘alayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa rabbul-‘arshil-‘aẓīm.

English:

“Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. In Him I place my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.” (Qur’an 9:129)

إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا أَخَذَ، وَلَهُ مَا أَعْطَى، وَكُلٌّ عِنْدَهُ بِأَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى، فَلْتَصْبِرْ وَلْتَحْتَسِبْ

English

Verily to Allah belongs what He took and to Him belongs what He gave, and everything with Him has an appointed time; thus, be patient and hope for Allah’s reward.

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ

Transliteration:

Rabbana afrigh ‘alaynā ṣabran wa tawaffanā muslimīn.

English:

“Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You].” (Qur’an 7:126)

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika minal-hammi wal-ḥazan, wa a‘ūdhu bika minal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wa a‘ūdhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a‘ūdhu bika min ghalabati ad-dayni wa qahri ar-rijāl.

English:

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, cowardice and miserliness, the burden of debts and being overpowered by men.” (Bukhari, Muslim)

حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ

Transliteration:

Ḥasbiyallāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa, ‘alayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa rabbul-‘arshil-‘aẓīm.

English:

“Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. In Him I place my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.” (Qur’an 9:129)

إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا أَخَذَ، وَلَهُ مَا أَعْطَى، وَكُلٌّ عِنْدَهُ بِأَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى، فَلْتَصْبِرْ وَلْتَحْتَسِبْ

English

Verily to Allah belongs what He took and to Him belongs what He gave, and everything with Him has an appointed time; thus, be patient and hope for Allah’s reward.
